Wedding Photography at HaBayit Al HaYam: Architecture, Family and Shifting Light
Photographed by Adi Elbaz · with Daniel Baratz · 31 January 2026
Discover Mika and Guy's story: from an architectural at-home getting-ready in Savyon to a wedding at HaBayit Al HaYam, the house on the sea. Navigating complex lighting, clean lines and a beautifully attuned family energy.
When the Light Decides to Cooperate
Anyone who knows houses by the sea knows that the light there is an entirely independent player. It arrives at angles you never asked for, shifts every ten minutes with the movement of the sun, and at certain hours it is simply blazing and overpowering. Adi Elbaz arrived at this house on the sea with one clear understanding: you can't manage this light, you can only hold a conversation with it. He stood at the entrance to the living room, let the light dictate the direction, and after a few minutes of observation he knew where the family should stand and where they shouldn't.
The result shows in frame after frame: architectural lines behaving like natural frames, soft silhouettes on white walls, and family moments that look as though there was no photographer there at all. That doesn't happen by chance.
Architecture as Part of the Story
Houses like this are a real challenge for a photographer. The interiors are clean and minimalist, but they can also feel cold if you don't find the right corners. Adi Elbaz understood that the house itself isn't just a backdrop; it is part of Mika and Guy's story. They chose to celebrate this day in a place that speaks to them, and that needs to be read correctly in the photographs.
So he photographed the stairs with a child running down them. He photographed a large window with a mother gazing out to sea. He shot before the guests arrived, when the house was quiet and precise, and again after the energy had filled every room. Together, the two versions are the real wedding.
Family Isn't a Pose
One of the hardest things to photograph is family. Not because people aren't beautiful, but because the moment someone tells them to stand together for a picture, something closes up in their faces and bodies. Adi Elbaz works differently. He asks people to do something, not to stand. To talk to one another, to sit together for a second, to help grandma into her seat. Once they have a purpose they forget about the camera, and that is exactly the moment worth waiting for.
At Mika and Guy's wedding there were moments like this in abundance. Uncles who hadn't seen each other in years, children running between legs, mothers quietly keeping everything in order. Adi documented all of it without interrupting, without turning the spotlight on anyone, without stopping the flow.
How Fine Photography Approaches Weddings Like This
At Fine Photography we believe every wedding is a world of its own. A wedding at a house on the sea in the afternoon is not the same as a field wedding at sunset, nor the same as a reception in a green garden. Every location brings different rules of light, a different energy, a different rhythm. The Fine Photography team arrives prepared, not only with equipment but with an understanding of the place and the people.

The Ending That Is Always a Beginning
At the end of the evening, when the lights along the sea had come on and most of the guests had already said goodbye, Adi Elbaz was still there. Photographing Mika and Guy alone for a few minutes, with no noise and no bustle. Just the two of them, the sea, and the bluish light of the hour after sunset. These are the photographs that now hang on their wall.
That is what a premium wedding photographer does: he doesn't leave when the official part is over. He knows that sometimes the most genuine moments come after everyone feels it has already ended.
